Air India issued an advisory via social media platform X, confirming that several routes to Europe and North America are now operating via longer paths to ensure passenger safety. The airline stressed that the safety of passengers and crew remains its top priority, despite possible delays.
IndiGo, India&rsquo;s largest airline, also alerted passengers to expect delays and extended travel times on certain international routes. It advised travelers to check their flight status on the airline&rsquo;s website or app before heading to the airport.
Flights to and from Europe, the Gulf, and Central Asia are most affected. Delays range from 30 minutes to several hours as aircraft navigate around restricted air corridors.
The airspace closure follows recent Iranian responses to Israeli airstrikes, heightening regional instability. Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) issued by aviation regulators worldwide have advised airlines to avoid the region.
Passengers are urged to remain informed, plan for delays, and stay in contact with airline support services as the situation evolves.
