In a tragic road accident in the Gola police station area of Ramgarh district, Jharkhand, on Wednesday morning, four people, including three school children, lost their lives, while seven to eight children were seriously injured. The injured children have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Several police and local administration officers have reached the scene.
It was reported that children from Goodwill Mission School were travelling to school in an autorickshaw. A truck loaded with potatoes overturned on the autorickshaw, near Tirla Chowk under Gola police station. The children in the auto were trapped under the truck. Locals rushed to help and, after significant effort, managed to pull the children out. Unfortunately, three children and the auto driver died on the spot. 
All the children were between the ages of 5 and 8 and were residents of Tirla and nearby villages. The injured children were taken to the hospital by locals and the police.
Hearing about the accident, the parents and a large number of local people gathered at the scene. The grieving families were inconsolable.
Following the incident, local residents blocked the road, leading to a long queue of vehicles. Ramgarh MLA Mamta Devi also arrived at the scene.
Despite the state government&rsquo;s directive to close all government and private schools until January 13 due to the cold wave, Goodwill Mission School remained open. People are holding the school management responsible for the tragedy. Administrative officials present at the scene stated that action will be taken against the school management for violating government orders.
The truck driver fled the scene after the accident.
