Rajasthan continues to bake under a severe heatwave as temperatures soar across the state. The IMD has issued an&nbsp;Orange Alert for extreme heat in Sri Ganganagar and Bikaner, with Yellow Alerts in nine other cities, warning residents to take precautions.
In the past 24 hours, Sri Ganganagar registered an astonishing 47.4 &deg;C, making it the hottest location in India and a rise of 2.8 &deg;C since Saturday. Bikaner followed closely at 46 &deg;C. Other cities across the state remain in the grip of relentless heat, with Barmer at 45.9 &deg;C, Churu 45.6 &deg;C, Phalodi 45.4 &deg;C, Jaisalmer 45.2 &deg;C, Kota 45 &deg;C, Pilani and Vanasthali 44.2 &deg;C, Bhilwara, Alwar, Jodhpur 43.4 &deg;C, Jhunjhunu and Dausa 43.3 &deg;C, and Jaipur 43.5 &deg;C, which is 1.7 &deg;C higher than Saturday.
The unrelenting heat has strained everyday life, affecting water availability, power consumption, and public comfort. Authorities have urged citizens to avoid heading outdoors during peak hours and to stay well-hydrated.
Amidst this heatwave, Rajasthan&rsquo;s only hill station, Mount Abu, offered a slight reprieve with a comfortable 31 &deg;C day temperature and 28 &deg;C at night. A few clouds briefly drifted around Tonk and its surroundings, but no rainfall was recorded.
Forecasts suggest the sweltering conditions will linger for another two days, with relief only expected by midweek. Until then, heatwaves will continue to dominate the region&rsquo;s daily weather.
