<p data-start="223" data-end="442"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The surge in rainfall has led to early filling of ponds and dams across the state, especially in eastern Rajasthan, which saw 160% more rainfall than usual. Western Rajasthan also experienced a significant 79% increase.</span></p>
<p data-start="444" data-end="711"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Rivers and seasonal drains are now flowing strongly, and water levels in many reservoirs have risen sharply. In the Kota division, several small dams are already full, while major reservoirs like Bisalpur, Parvati, and Mahi Bajaj Sagar are seeing substantial inflows.</span></p>
<p data-start="713" data-end="973"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">According to the Water Resources Department, Rajasthan&rsquo;s dams are now at 50.45% of their total capacity &mdash; up from just 32.53% on the same date last year. Ninety dams that had run dry are now receiving water, and those in Jaipur division are at 37.05% capacity.</span></p>
<p data-start="975" data-end="1301"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Historical data indicates that eastern Rajasthan consistently receives more rainfall than the west during the monsoon. The state&rsquo;s average annual rainfall is 421.96 mm. The highest rainfall in the last decade was in 2019 at 747.24 mm, while the lowest was in 2015 with 506.28 mm. In 2024, the state recorded 662.87 mm of rain.</span></p>
<p data-start="1303" data-end="1494"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The Jaipur Meteorological Centre has issued an alert about a low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal, expected to influence Rajasthan's weather this week.</span></p>
<p data-start="1496" data-end="1829" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node=""><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The system is predicted to bring moderate to heavy rainfall to over 27 districts, offering relief from heat and humidity. Caution is advised in districts likely to see intense showers, including Dausa, Dholpur, Karauli, and Sawai Madhopur.
