Heavy rainfall swept through several parts of Delhi and neighbouring cities early Monday, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue an orange alert for all districts of the national capital.
Adjacent regions, including Ghaziabad and Noida, were placed under a yellow alert, while Gurugram remained under an orange alert until early morning. 
According to the IMD&rsquo;s nowcast, the alert for Delhi was effective until 3:42 am, for Gurugram until 2:08 am, and the yellow alerts for Noida and Ghaziabad lasted until 1:55 am.
On Sunday, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 34.1&deg;C, slightly below normal, and a minimums temperature of 24.2&deg;C, about 1.9&deg;C above the seasonal average, IMD data revealed.
Western Disturbance to Bring More Showers
Meteorologists said a strong western disturbance over northwest India is likely to impact Delhi-NCR from Monday, bringing widespread rainfall over the next few days.
The showers are also expected to improve air quality, which deteriorated to the "moderate" category on Saturday with an AQI of 138, compared to Friday&rsquo;s "satisfactory"
 level of 88&mdash;the cleanest post-Dussehra air in the past three years.
From Wednesday onwards, the IMD forecasted that cold northwesterly winds could cause a dip in minimum temperatures across Delhi and its adjoining regions.
