Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) experienced heavy rainfall on Tuesday, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue an orange alert for several parts of the city. 
Moderate rainfall, accompanied by light thunderstorms and lightning, is expected over the next two hours, the weather department said.
The IMD&rsquo;s nowcast warnings cover North Delhi, North East Delhi, Central Delhi, New Delhi, South Delhi, South East Delhi, and Gurugram. 
Thunderstorm winds are expected to blow at speeds of 30-40 km/h across the entire capital and NCR areas.
The alert also includes surrounding regions such as Tundla, Firozabad, Shikohabad in Uttar Pradesh, and Bhiwari, Tizara, Khairthal, Kotputli, Viratnagar, Rajgarh, Mahawa, Mahandipur Balaji, and Dholpur in Rajasthan. 
Additional areas under warning are Sonipat, Kharkhoda, Farukhnagar, Bagpat, and Khekhra.
A broader warning for light rain and thunderstorms has also been issued for districts including Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Narwana, Fatehabad, Panipat, Gannaur, Jhajjar, Kosali, Mahendargarh, Sohana, Rewari, Narnaul, Bawal, Nuh, Shamli, Kandhla, Baraut, Pilakhua, Sikandra Rao, Hathras, Tundla, Firozabad, Shikohabad, Bhiwari, Tizara, Khairthal, Kotputli, Viratnagar, Rajgarh, Mahawa, Mahandipur Balaji, and Dholpur.
Earlier in the day, Delhi witnessed rainfall, and the sky darkened, signaling the possibility of heavier showers later. 
The IMD had issued both yellow and orange alerts for the region, forecasting moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning.
The minimum temperature in Delhi on Tuesday morning was recorded at 21&deg;C, 1.3&deg;C below normal, while the maximum is expected to reach around 35&deg;C.
Air quality in the capital remains satisfactory, with the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reporting an AQI of 68 at 9 am. According to CPCB guidelines, an AQI between 0&ndash;50 is "good," 51&ndash;100 "satisfactory," 101&ndash;200 "moderate," 201&ndash;300 "poor," 301&ndash;400 "very poor," and 401&ndash;500 "severe."
Delhi Airport Issues Advisory
Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) has warned passengers that flight operations may be affected due to the inclement weather. The airport advisory urged travelers to consider alternative transport, such as the Delhi Metro, and to contact airlines for updated flight information.
&ldquo;Due to inclement weather conditions in Delhi, flight operations at Delhi airport may be impacted. Our on-ground teams are working with all stakeholders to ensure a smooth passenger experience,&rdquo; the advisory stated.
