A severe cloudburst struck Dehradun early Tuesday morning, unleashing torrential rain that caused large-scale devastation across the region. 
Houses, roads, shops, and vehicles were swept away, particularly in areas along the swollen Tamsa River, which is flowing at dangerous levels due to relentless downpours.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took to social media, confirming the damage and assuring swift action. 
&ldquo;Some shops have been damaged due to heavy rains in Sahastradhara, Dehradun, late last night. District administration, SDRF, and police have reached the spot and are engaged in relief and rescue operations. I am constantly in touch with the local administration and personally monitoring the situation,&rdquo; he stated.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for Dehradun and Tehri Garhwal until 9 am, warning of more intense rainfall. 
Disturbing visuals from Dehradun showed the Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple, a revered shrine on the banks of the Tamsa, completely inundated.
According to temple priest Acharya Bipin Joshi, the river&rsquo;s flow surged around 5 am, rapidly submerging the entire temple complex. 
He urged locals and devotees to stay away from riverbanks during such hazardous conditions.
Meanwhile, in Jammu and Kashmir, the ongoing crisis deepened as thousands of tons of apples rotted in stranded trucks along the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway. 
Farmers, distressed over heavy losses, launched protests and shut fruit markets across the Union Territory.
The highway, a lifeline for the region, had been severely damaged by last month&rsquo;s torrential rains and cloudbursts, particularly near Udhampur.
Despite repair efforts, the road remains only partially functional, crippling the transport of essential supplies and horticultural produce.
