Maddock Films&rsquo; latest horror-comedy Thamma has made its much-awaited debut on OTT, with Amazon Prime Video announcing its global streaming premiere on December 16. Following a strong theatrical run, the film is now available for audiences worldwide on the streaming platform.
Starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Thamma is the newest addition to the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU), which also features popular titles such as Stree, Munjya, and Bhediya. Set in a mythical, supernatural world, the film blends horror, fantasy, humour, and emotion.
The story revolves around Alok, played by Ayushmann Khurrana, portrayed as humanity&rsquo;s last hope in a world overtaken by darkness. Rashmika Mandanna essays the role of Tadaka, a mystical being navigating this collapsing realm, while Nawazuddin Siddiqui appears as Yakshasan, the formidable ruler of darkness whose actions threaten the fate of the world.
Despite receiving mixed-to-positive reviews from critics, Thamma emerged as a box office success. The film earned ₹135 crore net in India and recorded a worldwide gross collection of ₹187 crore, cementing its commercial appeal.
Produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films and Amar Kaushik, Thamma is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar. The screenplay is penned by Niren Bhatt, Arun Fulara, and Suresh Mathew. The ensemble cast also includes Paresh Rawal and Faisal Malik, along with special appearances by Varun Dhawan, Abhishek Banerjee, Nora Fatehi, and Malaika Arora.
With its OTT release, Thamma is expected to reach a wider global audience, further expanding the popularity of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe.
