Congress MP Shashi Tharoor spent his weekend recovering from a cold and decided to unwind by watching Netflix &mdash; and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience. 
On his sister Smita Tharoor&rsquo;s recommendation, he watched Aryan Khan&rsquo;s directorial debut, &ldquo;The Ba***ds of Bollywood&rdquo;, and couldn&rsquo;t stop praising it afterward.
Directed by Aryan Khan and produced by Shah Rukh Khan&rsquo;s Red Chillies Entertainment, the Netflix satire has been a major talking point for its sharp storytelling, bold humor, and unexpected celebrity cameos.
Taking to X, Tharoor described it as &ldquo;one of the best things I have ever treated myself to: absolute #OTT GOLD!&rdquo; and shared a detailed review appreciating the series&rsquo; writing and direction.
He wrote, &ldquo;The series may take a bit of time to grow on you, but once it does, you&rsquo;re irresistibly hooked. The writing is sharp, the direction is fearless, and the sheer audacity of this satire is exactly what Bollywood needed. It&rsquo;s genius&mdash;often hilarious, sometimes moving, and always unflinching. It peels back the glamour, mocks clich&eacute;s with razor-sharp wit, and lets audiences peek behind the scenes.&rdquo;
Tharoor also had special words for Aryan Khan: &ldquo;Take a bow, Aryan Khan &mdash; you&rsquo;ve delivered a masterpiece. "The Ba***ds of Bollywood" is brilliant!&rdquo;
Concluding his post with a touching note to Shah Rukh Khan, Tharoor added, &ldquo;You must be so proud!!&rdquo;
Released last month on Netflix, The Ba***ds of Bollywood stars Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, Bobby Deol, Raghav Juyal, Aanya Singh, Manish Chaudhari, Mona Singh, Vijayant Kohli, Manoj Pahwa, Gautami Kapoor, and Rajat Bedi. 
The show is filled with hilarious cameos from Bollywood celebrities and offers a tongue-in-cheek look at the industry&rsquo;s off-screen realities.
However, the series also found itself in controversy when former NCB officer Sameer Wankhede filed a defamation case against Aryan Khan and Netflix, alleging that one of the show&rsquo;s characters was based on him.
Despite the buzz and debate, Aryan Khan&rsquo;s debut has earned widespread acclaim &mdash; and Tharoor&rsquo;s glowing endorsement only adds to its growing list of admirers.
