IMDb on Wednesday unveiled its list of the Top 10 Most Popular Indian Movies of 2025, with Mohit Suri&rsquo;s romantic musical Saiyaara taking the No. 1 spot, surpassing big-budget performers and high-profile sequels released this year.
The year saw major releases ranging from Vicky Kaushal&rsquo;s historical drama Chhaava and Rishab Shetty&rsquo;s mythological epic Kantara: A Legend, Chapter 1 to Ajay Devgn&rsquo;s action sequel Raid 2.&nbsp;
Yet, the top honour went to Saiyaara, a breakout hit featuring debutants Aneet Padda and Ahaan Panday.
IMDb said the ranking is based on actual page views from its more than 250 million monthly global visitors.
Saiyaara tops list
Mohit Suri&rsquo;s Saiyaara leads the 2025 chart, followed by the multilingual animated film Mahavatar Narsimha, and Chhaava in third place.

Mahavatar Narsimha is the first animated film to appear in IMDb&rsquo;s year-end Indian rankings.
A blockbuster surprise
Saiyaara emerged as a sleeper blockbuster, earning more than ₹500 crore worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing Indian romantic film to date. 
The film follows troubled musician Krissh Kapoor (Ahaan Panday) and aspiring journalist-poet Vaani Batra (Aneet Padda) as they navigate love and ambition. 
Varun Badola plays Krissh&rsquo;s father.&nbsp;
The film released on July 18.

Earlier this month, Saiyaara stars Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda also topped IMDb&rsquo;s Most Popular Indian Stars of 2025 list, outperforming established names including Aamir Khan and Rishab Shetty.
