The creative partnership that delivered HanuMan has turned into a public dispute. Director Prasanth Varma has finally spoken out after reports surfaced of multiple producers including&nbsp;HanuMan production house M/S Primeshow Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. filing complaints against him before the Telugu Film Chamber, alleging he took large advances without completing promised films.
Varma firmly rejected the accusations, describing them as &ldquo;completely false and retaliatory.&rdquo; In a detailed note shared on X, the filmmaker clarified that his ongoing dispute with Primeshow Entertainment is already under consideration by the Telugu Film Chamber and the Telugu Film Directors&rsquo; Association, making it a sub-judice matter.

He criticised sections of the media and social platforms for publishing selective portions of his written response, asserting that &ldquo;any attempt to publish internal pleadings, emails, or financial details&rdquo; amounts to interference in an active case. &ldquo;I categorically state that the allegations made against me are false, baseless, and retaliatory,&rdquo; Varma wrote, urging media outlets to refrain from further coverage until the Film Chamber delivers its verdict.
<h3 data-start="1442" data-end="1486">The allegations against Prasanth Varma</h3>
Producer K. Niranjan Reddy, in his complaint to the Film Producers Council, alleged that despite paying Varma substantial advances for multiple projects, the director failed to deliver on his commitments. According to the complaint, the two collaborated on HanuMan in 2021, after which Varma allegedly agreed to work on Adhira, Mahakali, Jai Hanuman, and Brahma Rakshas as part of the larger &ldquo;PVCU&rdquo; (Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe).
The producer claimed that he spent around ₹15 lakh on the teaser for Adhira and paid Varma a total of ₹2 crore between 2022 and 2023 through a combination of bank transfers and cash. Later, in 2024, he alleged that an additional ₹8 crore was paid to the director for upcoming projects.
Reddy accused Varma of suddenly changing directors for the planned projects appointing Vijay Binni to direct Adhira and Pooja Aparna Kolluru for Mahakali&nbsp;without notice or consent. He further claimed that Varma had &ldquo;illegally&rdquo; associated Jai Hanuman with another production house, Mythri Movie Makers, despite earlier agreements with Primeshow.
The complaint also alleged that Hombale Films was being considered for Brahma Rakshas, even though Primeshow had already paid over ₹10 crore for the film&rsquo;s development. Reddy claimed that Varma had received another ₹10 crore for a different film titled Octopus, parts of which were reportedly shot but never completed.
Citing these alleged breaches, the producer is demanding ₹200 crore in compensation &mdash; ₹100 crore for Jai Hanuman and ₹25 crore each for Adhira, Mahakali, Brahma Rakshas, and Octopus.
<h3 data-start="3108" data-end="3129">Varma&rsquo;s defence</h3>
In his official reply to the Film Chamber, Prasanth Varma denied every charge. He stated that despite HanuMan earning over ₹295 crore worldwide, he personally received only around ₹7 crore post-release and no share in the profits, contrary to their agreement. Varma further claimed that he has repeatedly requested pending payments from the production house, including dues related to Adhira, for which he says he was paid ₹1 crore solely for the teaser.
With both parties holding firm, the matter is now under review by the Telugu Film Chamber and the Telugu Film Directors&rsquo; Association. The industry is watching closely, as the dispute involves one of Tollywood&rsquo;s most promising filmmakers and could have lasting implications for future collaborations in the PVCU universe.
