The Singapore Police Force (SPF) on Friday announced that preliminary findings show no signs of foul play in the death of renowned Assamese singer Zubeen Garg, who passed away in Singapore on September 19, amid widespread public speculation. 
Authorities noted that the final investigation could take three months or longer to complete.
&ldquo;The SPF is aware of speculation and false information circulating online regarding Mr. Zubeen Garg&rsquo;s death. Based on preliminary investigations, we do not suspect foul play,&rdquo; the official statement read. 
The police confirmed that the autopsy report and preliminary findings were submitted to the Indian High Commission in Singapore on October 1.
Following the completion of the investigation, a State Coroner may decide to conduct a Coroner&rsquo;s Inquiry &mdash; a judicial process whose findings are made public. 
The SPF also urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information related to the case.
Meanwhile, the Assam government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the state CID to conduct a parallel inquiry.&nbsp;
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the SIT&rsquo;s report is expected by late November or early December.&nbsp;
He also met External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Singapore&rsquo;s Acting High Commissioner Alice Cheng, confirming that a team of Assam Police officers will travel to Singapore on October 21 to coordinate with the SPF.
So far, seven individuals have been arrested in connection with the case, including Zubeen&rsquo;s brother.&nbsp;
Five were sent to judicial custody on Wednesday, while two others were remanded for 14 days on Friday. 
Earlier, a police convoy transporting the five accused to Baksa District Jail was attacked by around 150 Zubeen Garg fans, resulting in injuries to police officers and two civilians. 
Several arrests were made following the assault.
