Hollywood star Mila Kunis recently reflected on her grueling preparation for her role in the 2010 thriller Black Swan, as the film marks its 15th anniversary.
Speaking to Vogue, Kunis described how she transformed into a professional ballerina for the Darren Aronofsky-directed movie. &ldquo;My prep was a lot of dancing and very little eating. I drank a lot of broth and danced for 12 hours a day,&rdquo; she revealed.
Originally, Kunis and co-star Natalie Portman were given three months to prepare, but financing delays extended their training to six months. &ldquo;It sucked for Darren, but Nat and I were thrilled to have extra time to dance,&rdquo; Kunis added.
The intense filming took a toll on her body. She sustained bruises from repeated lifts and dislocated her shoulder early on, but with care from an acupuncturist, she recovered fully.
Portman also shared how Kunis landed the role of Lily, the seductive rival. &ldquo;I remembered her ballet background immediately suggested her to Darren,&rdquo; Portman said.
Kunis&rsquo; dedication highlights the extreme discipline behind the iconic performances of Black Swan, cementing its place as a landmark in psychological thriller cinema.
