The highly anticipated biopic on pop legend Michael Jackson, titled Michael, is now set to release globally on April 24, 2026. Initially scheduled for October 2025, the film was delayed due to the need for reshoots and subsequent editing.
Directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan, Michael stars Jaafar Jackson&mdash;Michael Jackson&rsquo;s real-life nephew&mdash;as the King of Pop. The film promises an intimate portrayal of MJ&rsquo;s rise to global fame, exploring both his artistic genius and complex legacy.
Oscar-winner Graham King (The Departed) is producing, with Lionsgate handling U.S. distribution and Universal covering most international markets (except Japan, where Kino Films will distribute).

Michael Jackson died in 2009 at the age of 50 due to acute propofol intoxication. His death was later ruled a homicide. His doctor, Conrad Murray, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2011.
