Filmmaker and DC Studios head James Gunn has revealed that the much-anticipated Superman sequel is moving forward rapidly. Gunn confirmed that he has finished an extensive 60-page treatment for the film, which already includes detailed dialogue, and is now transitioning it into a full script.
The project will feature David Corenswet returning as the iconic Man of Steel. Gunn emphasised that production scheduling is currently underway and assured fans that shooting will begin sooner rather than later.
The sequel is one of several major projects on DC&rsquo;s upcoming slate, alongside Peacemaker Season 2, Supergirl, the Lanterns series, Wonder Woman, and a horror-inspired Clayface film. Gunn highlighted that each project will have its own distinct tone and creative vision, reflecting the diversity of DC&rsquo;s comic origins.
With Gunn&rsquo;s creative push and the promise of unique storytelling, fans can expect DC&rsquo;s cinematic universe to expand in bold new directions while keeping Superman at the heart of it all.
