Audiences at the Locarno Film Festival were treated to a nostalgic surprise when Jackie Chan reenacted his role from Bruce Lee&rsquo;s classic Enter the Dragon. Chan, who played a minor part in the 1973 film, fondly recalled how Lee once accidentally struck him with a stick during filming an incident he laughed off as part of the job.
&ldquo;I&rsquo;m no Superman. I get scared before stunts and wonder if I&rsquo;ll die this time,&rdquo; he admitted during a lively masterclass.
Chan traced his journey from a mischievous child sent to martial arts school to becoming a stuntman in films like Fist of Fury, before leaping into acting. &ldquo;Movies were great, I could even have my lunch box,&rdquo; he joked, charming the crowd with his humour and candidness.
He also spoke about his father, who was often absent but sent him voice recordings, noting, &ldquo;If I listened to them now, I&rsquo;d cry.&rdquo;
Determined to master every aspect of filmmaking, Chan learned makeup, direction, and more, eventually helming his films. &ldquo;If you only learn how to direct, that&rsquo;s not enough,&rdquo; he told aspiring filmmakers.
