Ice Age fans can rejoice as Disney has officially announced the sixth instalment of the beloved animated franchise. Titled Ice Age: Boiling Point, the film is set to release in U.S. theatres on February 5, 2027, under 20th Century Studios. The announcement was made during Destination D23: A Journey Around the Worlds of Disney in Orlando.
The story will take Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, Scrat, and their friends into a dangerous new setting packed with dinosaurs and flowing lava, offering audiences a thrilling adventure through unexplored parts of the Lost World.
Serving as a sequel to Ice Age: Collision Course (2016), the film marks the first theatrical Ice Age release not produced by Blue Sky Studios. Returning voice actors include Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Simon Pegg, and Queen Latifah.
So far, five theatrical films have been part of the series: Ice Age (2002), The Meltdown (2006), Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009), Continental Drift (2012), and Collision Course (2016). Additionally, a spin-off, The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild, was released on Disney+ in 2022 with Simon Pegg reprising his role.
With Boiling Point, the franchise is set to return bigger than ever, promising fans an action-packed journey filled with humour, heart, and prehistoric chaos.
