Acclaimed music composer and actor G V Prakash Kumar is all praise for his upcoming Tamil film Blackmail, calling it a wholesome family entertainer that transcends the thriller genre. Directed by Mu. Maran and produced by Jayakkodi Amalraj under the JDS Film Factory banner, the film is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on August 1.
Speaking about the film, GV Prakash said, &ldquo;Blackmail is not just a suspenseful thriller, it&rsquo;s a layered narrative with emotional depth and characters that audiences of all age groups will relate to. Director Mu. Maran has taken his storytelling to a whole new level. I was already a fan of his earlier works Iravukku Aayiram Kangal and Kannai Nambathey, but Blackmail is something special.&rdquo;
He added that the film&rsquo;s script allows even smaller characters to leave a lasting impact. &ldquo;Every role in the film has been crafted with care and significance. Acting in this film felt very natural to me because of the director&rsquo;s clarity and vision,&rdquo; he noted.
GV Prakash also praised producer Jayakkodi Amalraj for being hands-on throughout the filmmaking journey. &ldquo;Tamil cinema needs more passionate producers like him. His involvement went far beyond just funding,&nbsp; he was emotionally and creatively invested in every step.&rdquo;
On working with his co-stars, the actor was equally appreciative. &ldquo;Bindhu Madhavi&rsquo;s performance is incredibly moving. Her role is strong and emotionally rich. Teju Ashwini has surprised everyone with a role that&rsquo;s unlike anything she&rsquo;s done before. And Srikanth has delivered a powerful performance.&rdquo;
The film features music by Sam CS, cinematography by Gokul Benoy, and editing by San Lokesh, promising a technically sound and engaging experience for audiences.
Blackmail is written and directed by Mu. Maran, known for his sharp screenplays and gripping narratives, and is expected to be a major crowd puller when it hits cinemas.
