Following strong demand from southern markets, <em data-start="212" data-end="226">Dhurandhar 2</em> will now release simultaneously in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.</span></p>
<p data-start="308" data-end="661"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Directed by Aditya Dhar, <em data-start="333" data-end="345">Dhurandhar</em>, which released in theatres on December 5, crossed the ₹600 crore mark at the Indian box office and has earned over ₹900 crore worldwide. Despite being released only in Hindi, the film witnessed encouraging traction across South Indian states, leading distributors to push for dubbed versions in regional languages.</span></p>
<p data-start="663" data-end="1142"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Occupancy figures further reflected the film&rsquo;s growing popularity in the South, with Hyderabad recording nearly 29 per cent occupancy, Chennai over 37 per cent, and Bengaluru close to 50 per cent. These numbers compared favourably with Mumbai and NCR, which saw occupancies of around 30 per cent and 34 per cent respectively. Makers also noted that strong word-of-mouth, social media buzz and repeat viewership significantly contributed to the film&rsquo;s success in southern markets.</span></p>
<p data-start="1144" data-end="1526"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">At the end of <em data-start="1158" data-end="1170">Dhurandhar</em>, the makers officially announced the sequel, slated for a theatrical release on March 19, 2026, coinciding with Eid. With the decision to mount a pan-India release, <em data-start="1336" data-end="1350">Dhurandhar 2</em> is expected to reach a much wider audience across the country. The sequel will clash at the box office with <em data-start="1459" data-end="1493">Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups</em>, starring Yash and Kiara Advani.</span></p>
<p data-start="1528" data-end="1780"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;"><em data-start="1528" data-end="1540">Dhurandhar</em> is written, directed and co-produced by Aditya Dhar, and backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios. The film features an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi.</span></p>
<p data-start="1782" data-end="2073" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node=""><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">In the film, Ranveer Singh plays Hamza Ali Mazari, also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, an operative sent to Pakistan to infiltrate a Baloch gang in Lyari. The sequel is expected to explore the character&rsquo;s backstory in greater depth, as teased in the closing moments of the first installment.</span></p>
