Television actor Ashish Kapoor has been arrested in connection with an alleged rape case registered at the Civil Lines police station in Delhi. He was tracked across several locations before being detained in Pune, where he was staying with a friend.
The case surfaced after a Gurugram-based professional filed a complaint on August 11, alleging that Kapoor sexually assaulted her inside a bathroom during a house party in Delhi. While the initial complaint named multiple individuals, the complainant later revised her statement to accuse only Ashish Kapoor.
Following the FIR, Delhi Police launched a search operation. He was first traced to Goa but managed to escape before being arrested in Pune. Legal opinion is being sought, and further investigation is underway.
Ashish Kapoor has worked in several popular television serials, including Saraswatichandra, Love Marriage Ya Arranged Marriage, Chand Chupa Badal Mein, Dekha Ek Khwaab, Molkki Rishton Ki Agnipariksha, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Woh Apna Sa, and Bandini.
