Rishab Shetty&rsquo;s Kantara Chapter 1 continues its unstoppable run at the global box office, crossing the ₹550 crore milestone within 10 days of release. The film, a prequel to the 2022 hit Kantara, has now earned an estimated ₹560&ndash;590 crore worldwide, placing it among the top 25 highest-grossing Indian films ever.
According to trade analysts, the movie witnessed a massive 66% jump in collections on its second Saturday, earning ₹37 crore net in India on Day 10, nearly 75% higher than Thursday&rsquo;s figures. With this, the domestic total now stands at ₹396.65 crore net ₹476 crore gross. The period action drama, written and directed by Shetty, has reportedly overtaken blockbusters like Tiger Zinda Hai and Dhoom 3, both ₹558 crore, and even surpassed the lifetime collections of&nbsp;Saiyaara, Padmaavat, and Sanju.
Set nearly a thousand years before the events of the original film, Kantara Chapter 1 has been widely praised for its world-building, striking cinematography, and Shetty&rsquo;s powerful direction. The film also stars Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, and Gulshan Devaiah in pivotal roles.
