In a dramatic turn of events ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, Abhay Kumar Singh, a senior leader of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), broke down in tears after being denied a party ticket from the Morwa constituency in Samastipur. The emotional video of Singh crying inconsolably has now gone viral, triggering a political storm.
Singh, who has been associated with the party for over two decades, claimed he was sidelined despite his long years of service. Alleging that the ticket distribution process was influenced by money power, he said, &ldquo;Someone paid more money than me, that&rsquo;s why he got the ticket. I have struggled for 25 years, but now I want to be free from this struggle.&rdquo;
According to Singh, party insiders demanded heavy commissions in exchange for tickets. He alleged that a &ldquo;commission culture&rdquo; had crept into the system, with 20&ndash;30 percent of ticket amounts being siphoned off by local leaders.
The Morwa seat, initially under the LJP(R) quota, was later handed over to an ally under the NDA&rsquo;s seat-sharing arrangement. Singh, who had contested from the same seat in the 2020 elections, said the decision came as a personal blow and that he had &ldquo;no interest left in politics.&rdquo;
Breaking down during the interview, he declared his decision to quit active politics altogether. &ldquo;I have worked for this party with full dedication. But this betrayal is unbearable,&rdquo; Singh said through tears.
The incident has sparked conversations within political circles about internal party rifts, growing discontent among grassroot workers, and the larger debate over the transparency of ticket allocation.
