The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday announced its first list of 71 candidates for the upcoming 2025 Bihar Legislative Assembly election. Outgoing Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha have been fielded from Tarapur and Lakhisarai constituencies, respectively.
The 243-seat Bihar Assembly will go to polls in two phases on November 6 and 11, with counting scheduled for November 14. Of the 101 seats BJP is contesting, this list covers 71 constituencies.
The seat-sharing arrangement within the National Democratic Alliance has been finalised, with BJP and Janata Dal (United) contesting 101 seats each, while Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) led by Chirag Paswan will contest 29 seats. The announcement sets the stage for a high-stakes electoral battle as alliances solidify ahead of polling.
