The India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) has officially come into force, marking a historic milestone for trade between India and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) nations. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal highlighted that the agreement will create new opportunities for trade, investment, and job growth, benefiting businesses and citizens alike.
The pact strengthens economic ties between India and EFTA countries, including Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein. EFTA leadership, including Guy Parmelin, Head of the Swiss Federal Department of Economic Affairs, emphasized the importance of this partnership in promoting mutual economic growth.
The implementation of TEPA is expected to boost bilateral trade, facilitate smoother market access, and open avenues for investment across sectors, reinforcing long-term strategic economic cooperation between India and the EFTA bloc.
