<p data-start="71" data-end="315"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The central government announced that 1,24,101 public grievances were addressed by various ministries and departments in May, marking the 35th consecutive month in which grievance redressals have exceeded the one-lakh mark.</span></p>
<p data-start="317" data-end="688"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">According to the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), the average disposal time for complaints during the month was 16 days. The data comes from the monthly report of the Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS), which provides detailed insights into the types and categories of grievances received and resolved.</span></p>
<p data-start="690" data-end="1027"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">In May alone, 60,499 new users registered on the CPGRAMS portal. Uttar Pradesh led the states in new registrations with 10,043 users. The feedback call centre collected 65,601 responses during the month, including 38,968 related to central ministries and departments, according to the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances &amp; Pensions.</span></p>
<p data-start="1029" data-end="1274"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The system is also closely integrated with the Common Service Centre (CSC) portal, available at over 5 lakh centres nationwide and supported by around 2.5 lakh Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs). Through CSCs, 5,653 grievances were filed in May.</span></p>
<p data-start="1276" data-end="1431"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">The CPGRAMS report highlighted key issues frequently raised through CSCs and offered a ministry-wise breakdown of grievance registrations via this channel.</span></p>
<p data-start="1433" data-end="1696"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">A notable feature of the redressal mechanism is the operational Review Meeting Module, which enables Secretary-level reviews of grievances to ensure faster and more effective resolution. In May, 28 such review meetings were held across ministries and departments.</span></p>
<p data-start="1698" data-end="1931" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node=""><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;">Top-performing departments in May's Grievance Redressal Assessment and Index (for Group A, with 500+ grievances) included the Department of Telecommunications, Department of Posts, and the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs.</span></p>
