Three Indian Army soldiers were killed on Sunday after their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a 700-feet-deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir&rsquo;s Ramban district, according to officials.&nbsp;
The accident occurred around 11:30 am near Battery Chashma on National Highway 44, while the vehicle was part of a convoy travelling from Jammu to Srinagar.
The truck veered off the highway and plunged into the gorge, killing all three personnel on board.&nbsp;
The deceased soldiers have been identified as Sepoy Amit Kumar, Sepoy Sujeet Kumar, and Sepoy Man Bahadur, officials said.
Visuals from the scene showed the severely damaged remains of the army truck lying deep in the gorge. The crash site was strewn with the soldiers&rsquo; bodies, their belongings, and scattered documents. The vehicle had been completely mangled by the impact of the fall.
A joint rescue operation was launched immediately following the incident, involving personnel from the Indian Army, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and local volunteers.&nbsp;
The bodies were located at the crash site and were in the process of being recovered at the time of the report.
