Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman conducted the seventh pre-budget consultation today in New Delhi, engaging with representatives from the trade and services sectors to gather suggestions for the upcoming general budget. Yesterday, Sitharaman convened a pre-budget session focused on discussions with representatives of trade unions and labor organizations, underscoring a comprehensive approach to solicit diverse perspectives ahead of the budget formulation process.
In preceding weeks, the Finance Minister also held consultations with Finance Ministers from all states and Union Territories, and engaged with stakeholders from farmer associations and agriculture economists. These interactions are part of her broader outreach strategy aimed at incorporating varied inputs into the budgetary framework.
Earlier engagements included dialogues with experts from financial and capital markets, industry leaders, associations, and prominent economists, reflecting a concerted effort to ensure inclusivity and comprehensive consideration of economic priorities and challenges.
The series of consultations underlines the government's proactive stance in gathering inputs from a wide spectrum of stakeholders to craft a budget that addresses critical economic issues and supports sustainable growth across sectors.
