Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MPs staged a protest in Parliament premises ahead of President Droupadi Murmu's address on Thursday, in response to the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister and AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal. The MPs were seen holding placards with messages like "Stop misusing ED and CBI" and "Dictatorship will not work."
AAP leader Sandeep Pathak announced that the party's MPs would boycott the President's address to the joint sitting of Parliament. This address marks the first presidential address since the formation of the third National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government.
Following the President's address, a motion of thanks will be introduced in both Houses of Parliament for discussion. Pathak emphasized the supremacy of the President and the Constitution, stating that it is crucial to raise voices when dictatorship is exercised in the name of justice.
"Today we will protest in the Rajya Sabha against the arrest of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and we will boycott the President's address. The President and the Constitution are supreme and when dictatorship is done in the name of justice, it is important to raise our voices," he said.
When asked whether other parties of the INDIA bloc would also protest in the Rajya Sabha, AAP leader Sandeep Pathak stated, "We did not have a discussion with the remaining parties of the INDIA alliance regarding this, but our party will boycott the President's address."
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the Rouse Avenue Court of Delhi placed Arvind Kejriwal on three days of CBI remand in connection with the Excise policy case. Vacation Judge Amitabh Rawat, after considering all the submissions from both sides, granted Kejriwal's remand to the CBI until June 29, 2024. During this period, the court permitted Kejriwal's wife, Sunita Kejriwal, to meet him for 30 minutes and his lawyer to meet him daily for 30 minutes. The court also allowed him to carry his prescribed medicines during the remand period.
During the hearing, Arvind Kejriwal addressed the court, stating, "The CBI is claiming that I have made a statement against Manish Sisodia, which is completely false. Manish Sisodia is innocent, the Aam Aadmi Party is innocent. I am also innocent. Such statements are being given to the media to defame us."
He further added, "They are tarnishing our image in the media by using unnamed sources. They plan to make it headline news that Kejriwal has shifted all the blame to Manish Sisodia."
However, the Court responded, "I have read your statement... you have not said this."
On Tuesday, the Delhi High Court stayed the bail order for Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, which had been granted by the trial court. The High Court noted that the trial court should have recorded its satisfaction with the fulfilment of the twin conditions of Section 45 of the Prevention of the Money Laundering Act (PMLA) before issuing the impugned order.

"આજે અમે દિલ્હીના સીએમ અરવિંદ કેજરીવાલની ધરપકડના વિરોધમાં રાજ્યસભામાં વિરોધ કરીશું અને અમે રાષ્ટ્રપતિના અભિભાષણનો બહિષ્કાર કરીશું. રાષ્ટ્રપતિ અને બંધારણ સર્વોચ્ચ છે અને જ્યારે ન્યાયના નામે સરમુખત્યારશાહી ચાલે છે, ત્યારે અમારો અવાજ ઉઠાવવો મહત્વપૂર્ણ છે. ," તેણે કીધુ.
જ્યારે પૂછવામાં આવ્યું કે શું ભારત બ્લોકના અન્ય પક્ષો પણ રાજ્યસભામાં વિરોધ કરશે, તો AAP નેતા સંદીપ પાઠકે કહ્યું, "અમે આ અંગે ભારત જોડાણના બાકીના પક્ષો સાથે ચર્ચા કરી નથી, પરંતુ અમારી પાર્ટી રાષ્ટ્રપતિના સંબોધનનો બહિષ્કાર કરશે. "

તેમણે વધુમાં ઉમેર્યું હતું કે, "તેઓ અનામી સ્ત્રોતોનો ઉપયોગ કરીને મીડિયામાં અમારી છબી ખરાબ કરી રહ્યા છે. તેઓ તેને હેડલાઇન ન્યૂઝ બનાવવાની યોજના બનાવી રહ્યા છે કે કેજરીવાલે તમામ દોષ મનીષ સિસોદિયા પર ઢોળી દીધા છે."
જો કે, કોર્ટે જવાબ આપ્યો, "મેં તમારું નિવેદન વાંચ્યું છે... તમે આવું કહ્યું નથી."

दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री और आप के राष्ट्रीय संयोजक अरविंद केजरीवाल की गिरफ़्तारी के विरोध में गुरुवार को आम आदमी पार्टी (आप) के सांसदों ने राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू के अभिभाषण से पहले संसद परिसर में विरोध प्रदर्शन किया। सांसदों ने "ईडी और सीबीआई का दुरुपयोग बंद करो" और "तानाशाही नहीं चलेगी" जैसे संदेशों वाली तख्तियाँ पकड़ी हुई थीं।
आप नेता संदीप पाठक ने घोषणा की कि पार्टी के सांसद संसद के संयुक्त सत्र में राष्ट्रपति के अभिभाषण का बहिष्कार करेंगे। यह अभिभाषण तीसरी राष्ट्रीय जनतांत्रिक गठबंधन (एनडीए) सरकार के गठन के बाद पहला राष्ट्रपति अभिभाषण है।
राष्ट्रपति के अभिभाषण के बाद संसद के दोनों सदनों में चर्चा के लिए धन्यवाद प्रस्ताव पेश किया जाएगा। पाठक ने राष्ट्रपति और संविधान की सर्वोच्चता पर जोर देते हुए कहा कि जब न्याय के नाम पर तानाशाही हो रही हो तो आवाज उठाना बहुत जरूरी है।
उन्होंने कहा, "आज हम दिल्ली के सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल की गिरफ्तारी के खिलाफ राज्यसभा में विरोध प्रदर्शन करेंगे और राष्ट्रपति के अभिभाषण का बहिष्कार करेंगे। राष्ट्रपति और संविधान सर्वोच्च हैं और जब न्याय के नाम पर तानाशाही की जाती है, तो अपनी आवाज उठाना महत्वपूर्ण है।"
यह पूछे जाने पर कि क्या भारत गठबंधन की अन्य पार्टियां भी राज्यसभा में विरोध प्रदर्शन करेंगी, आप नेता संदीप पाठक ने कहा, "इस बारे में भारत गठबंधन की शेष पार्टियों से हमारी कोई चर्चा नहीं हुई है, लेकिन हमारी पार्टी राष्ट्रपति के अभिभाषण का बहिष्कार करेगी।"
इस बीच, बुधवार को दिल्ली की राउज एवेन्यू कोर्ट ने आबकारी नीति मामले में अरविंद केजरीवाल को तीन दिन की सीबीआई रिमांड पर भेज दिया। अवकाशकालीन न्यायाधीश अमिताभ रावत ने दोनों पक्षों की दलीलों पर विचार करने के बाद केजरीवाल को 29 जून 2024 तक सीबीआई रिमांड पर भेज दिया। इस दौरान कोर्ट ने केजरीवाल की पत्नी सुनीता केजरीवाल को उनसे 30 मिनट और उनके वकील को उनसे रोजाना 30 मिनट मिलने की इजाजत दी। कोर्ट ने रिमांड अवधि के दौरान उन्हें अपनी निर्धारित दवाएं साथ रखने की भी इजाजत दी।
सुनवाई के दौरान अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कोर्ट को संबोधित करते हुए कहा, "सीबीआई दावा कर रही है कि मैंने मनीष सिसोदिया के खिलाफ बयान दिया है, जो पूरी तरह से झूठ है। मनीष सिसोदिया निर्दोष हैं, आम आदमी पार्टी निर्दोष है। मैं भी निर्दोष हूं। हमें बदनाम करने के लिए मीडिया को ऐसे बयान दिए जा रहे हैं।"
उन्होंने आगे कहा, "वे अज्ञात स्रोतों का उपयोग करके मीडिया में हमारी छवि खराब कर रहे हैं। वे इसे सुर्खियों में लाने की योजना बना रहे हैं कि केजरीवाल ने सारा दोष मनीष सिसोदिया पर मढ़ दिया है।"
हालाँकि, न्यायालय ने जवाब दिया, "मैंने आपका बयान पढ़ा है... आपने ऐसा नहीं कहा है।"
मंगलवार को दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय ने मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल को निचली अदालत द्वारा दी गई जमानत के आदेश पर रोक लगा दी। उच्च न्यायालय ने कहा कि निचली अदालत को विवादित आदेश जारी करने से पहले धन शोधन निवारण अधिनियम (पीएमएलए) की धारा 45 की दो शर्तों की पूर्ति पर अपनी संतुष्टि दर्ज करनी चाहिए थी।
