Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been sent to judicial custody until July 12 by Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court in connection with a money laundering case related to the now-defunct excise policy.&nbsp;
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had requested a 14-day judicial custody, citing the necessity for "fair investigation and justice."&nbsp;
Kejriwal appeared in court following the conclusion of his three-day police custody. Earlier, he was placed in CBI custody for three days after being interrogated by the agency at Tihar Jail.&nbsp;
Arrested on March 21 by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case tied to the excise policy, Kejriwal faced a setback when the Delhi High Court temporarily halted a lower court's decision granting him bail in the ED case on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, the CBI formally arrested him in the corruption case and presented him before Special Judge Amitabh Rawat at the Rouse Avenue court.
While the ED case focuses on investigating the alleged money trail, the CBI case aims to establish instances of corruption and bribery involving public officials.
The CBI had initially registered a corruption case under the Prevention of Corruption Act (PC Act) in 2022, but it did not initially name Kejriwal as a defendant.

સેન્ટ્રલ બ્યુરો ઑફ ઇન્વેસ્ટિગેશન (સીબીઆઈ) એ "નિષ્પક્ષ તપાસ અને ન્યાય"ની જરૂરિયાતને ટાંકીને 14 દિવસની ન્યાયિક કસ્ટડીની વિનંતી કરી હતી.
કેજરીવાલ તેમની ત્રણ દિવસની પોલીસ કસ્ટડીની સમાપ્તિ બાદ કોર્ટમાં હાજર થયા હતા. અગાઉ, તિહાર જેલમાં એજન્સી દ્વારા પૂછપરછ કર્યા પછી તેને ત્રણ દિવસ માટે CBI કસ્ટડીમાં રાખવામાં આવ્યો હતો.

સીબીઆઈએ શરૂઆતમાં 2022 માં ભ્રષ્ટાચાર નિવારણ અધિનિયમ (પીસી એક્ટ) હેઠળ ભ્રષ્ટાચારનો કેસ નોંધ્યો હતો, પરંતુ તેણે શરૂઆતમાં પ્રતિવાદી તરીકે કેજરીવાલનું નામ લીધું ન હતું.

दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल को अब समाप्त हो चुकी आबकारी नीति से संबंधित धन शोधन के एक मामले में दिल्ली की राउज एवेन्यू कोर्ट ने 12 जुलाई तक न्यायिक हिरासत में भेज दिया है।
केंद्रीय जांच ब्यूरो (सीबीआई) ने "निष्पक्ष जांच और न्याय" की आवश्यकता का हवाला देते हुए 14 दिनों की न्यायिक हिरासत का अनुरोध किया था।
केजरीवाल तीन दिन की पुलिस हिरासत की अवधि समाप्त होने के बाद अदालत में पेश हुए। इससे पहले, तिहाड़ जेल में सीबीआई द्वारा पूछताछ के बाद उन्हें तीन दिन की सीबीआई हिरासत में रखा गया था।
आबकारी नीति से जुड़े धन शोधन मामले में प्रवर्तन निदेशालय द्वारा 21 मार्च को गिरफ्तार किए गए केजरीवाल को मंगलवार को उस समय झटका लगा जब दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय ने प्रवर्तन निदेशालय के मामले में उन्हें जमानत देने के निचली अदालत के फैसले पर अस्थायी रूप से रोक लगा दी।
बुधवार को सीबीआई ने भ्रष्टाचार के मामले में उन्हें औपचारिक रूप से गिरफ्तार किया और राउज एवेन्यू अदालत में विशेष न्यायाधीश अमिताभ रावत के समक्ष पेश किया।
जहां ईडी का मामला कथित धन-संकट की जांच पर केंद्रित है, वहीं सीबीआई का मामला सरकारी अधिकारियों से जुड़े भ्रष्टाचार और रिश्वतखोरी के मामलों को स्थापित करने पर केंद्रित है।
सीबीआई ने शुरू में 2022 में भ्रष्टाचार निवारण अधिनियम (पीसी एक्ट) के तहत भ्रष्टाचार का मामला दर्ज किया था, लेकिन उसने शुरुआत में केजरीवाल को प्रतिवादी के रूप में नामित नहीं किया था।
