What initially appeared to be a hit-and-run death has been uncovered as an alleged murder conspiracy in Rajasthan&rsquo;s Sri Ganganagar, where a 23-year-old woman is accused of killing her husband with the help of her lover and two accomplices.
Police arrested four individuals after an autopsy contradicted the accident claim, revealing injuries consistent with a violent assault. The accused woman had reportedly been in a seven-year relationship with her boyfriend before her family arranged her marriage to 27-year-old Ashish Kumar in October last year. Investigators believe she was unhappy with the marriage and planned the killing.
The incident occurred last Friday evening on a deserted road in 01KLM village. The woman initially told authorities that an overspeeding motorcycle struck her husband during an evening walk and that the attacker robbed her earring before fleeing. A case of negligent driving was registered while officers searched for the supposed rider.
Suspicions emerged when the post-mortem found no evidence of a road accident but instead multiple injuries, including a severe head wound and signs of smothering. During questioning, the woman allegedly confessed to plotting the crime with her boyfriend.
Police said the couple had met during college and continued their relationship despite family opposition. After marriage, the woman reportedly sought permission to pursue higher studies in Ravla &mdash; a plan investigators believe was intended to help her maintain contact with her partner. When her husband refused, the duo allegedly began planning the murder weeks.
Authorities claim two additional men were recruited, and the group conducted reconnaissance of the location days before the attack. On the evening of the crime, the husband was lured to the pre-selected spot, where he was beaten with rods and sticks before being smothered.
To support the fabricated robbery narrative, the woman allegedly handed over her earring and mobile phone to the attackers before alerting family members and locals with the staged accident story.
All four accused, identified as the woman, her boyfriend, and the two alleged accomplices, have been booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Further investigation is underway.
