A tragic incident occurred late at night at Medley Pharmaceuticals in Boisar&rsquo;s Tarapur MIDC industrial area when a gas leak claimed the lives of three workers and left five others critically injured.
According to reports, the leak spread quickly inside the facility, exposing several employees who were working the night shift. Emergency teams rushed the affected workers to Shinde Hospital in Boisar, where three were declared dead and five remain under intensive care.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the leak and to assess whether safety protocols were adequately followed at the plant. Local officials confirmed that the priority is to ensure the health of the injured workers while examining accountability for the mishap.
The Tarapur MIDC region, known for its cluster of chemical and pharmaceutical industries, has witnessed similar industrial accidents in the past, raising recurring concerns about workplace safety and monitoring standards.
District administration has assured strict action against any lapses found and said that measures will be reinforced to prevent such incidents in the future.
