The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday carried out searches at 22 locations across Bihar, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in connection with a terror funding probe.
Officials confirmed that raids were conducted in Budgam, Kulgam, Pattan, Pulwama, and Kangan areas of the Valley with support from local police and CRPF.
The searches are linked to multiple terror cases, including the June 9, 2024 Reasi attack in which nine pilgrims were killed, and the April 22, 2024 Pahalgam attack at Baisaran meadow that left 26 dead, mostly tourists. Both incidents were attributed to Pakistan-backed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists.
On July 28, 2025, three LeT operatives Suleman, Jibran, and Hamza Afghani were eliminated during &lsquo;Operation Mahadev&rsquo; in Dachigam National Park. Security forces confirmed their identities using photos recovered from a seized mobile phone during a 2024 encounter.
The NIA continues to investigate funding networks and safe havens linked to these terror strikes.
