BRS MLC Kavitha, who en route to India from the USA on Friday, took accountability for authoring the letter addressed to her father and BRS president, K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), which has since sparked widespread political discussion across Telangana.&nbsp;
Speaking to the media at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Kavitha clarified that the letter, written a fortnight ago, was never intended to serve any personal agenda. &ldquo;It was general feedback aimed at strengthening the party,&rdquo; she said. &ldquo;Many of the issues I highlighted are already being discussed widely.&rdquo; She wondered how the internal letter got leaked.&nbsp;
She noted that this wasn&rsquo;t the first time she had offered such feedback to the party leadership, adding that she had previously raised concerns about internal conspiracies as well. Expressing disappointment over the letter&rsquo;s unauthorised leak, she insisted she bore no personal resentment. &ldquo;There ought to be a serious conversation about who leaked it,&rdquo; she remarked.
When asked about the hands behind the conspiracy, she stated that "KCR is god. But some devils have surrounded him.&rdquo; Her remarks allude to a growing sense of discontent within the party&rsquo;s inner circle, which she believes needs to be addressed if the BRS is to regain its footing.
The handwritten letter, composed in both Telugu and English, has become a major talking point in political circles. It primarily focused on the BRS&rsquo;s Silver Jubilee celebrations held on 27 April in Warangal. Kavitha wrote that, "As you (KCR) spoke for just two minutes, some people began speculating that there will be a tie-up with the BJP in future. I even felt that you should have spoken strongly (against the BJP). It might be because I suffered (because of the BJP). But you should have targeted the BJP some more, Daddy."
She also expressed concern that key issues&mdash;such as the demand for 42 per cent reservation for backward classes, categorisation of Scheduled Castes, the Waqf Amendment Act, and the omission of Urdu&mdash;were overlooked in KCR&rsquo;s speech. According to her, this contributed to the negative public response.
In the letter, Kavitha observed that support for the ruling Congress was waning at the grassroots level, and noted that some BRS members were beginning to view the BJP as a viable alternative. She also raised concerns over the party&rsquo;s decision to abstain from contesting the recent MLC elections, implying that such a move could be seen as an indication of a possible understanding with the BJP.
Kavitha&rsquo;s return to Hyderabad was also notable for the low-key reception. No senior BRS leaders were present to greet her at the airport, nor were there any BRS party flags in sight. Instead, members of Telangana Jagruthi&mdash;the cultural organisation she founded&mdash;and several leaders from backward communities turned out to welcome her. One such leader stated, &ldquo;We&rsquo;ve come to thank Kavitha garu for her steadfast support for 42% reservations for backward classes. People from various parties have gathered here.&rdquo;
Her supporters were seen holding blue placards and banners expressing solidarity with her ongoing campaign for a &ldquo;Samajika Telangana&rdquo; (Social Telangana), a movement aimed at securing greater social justice and representation.&nbsp;
