&nbsp;Indian equity markets opened higher on Tuesday, buoyed by optimism around the government&rsquo;s upcoming Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms and positive foreign fund flows.
The Sensex gained 195.01 points, or 0.24 per cent, to 81,468, while the Nifty 50 rose 46.30 points, or 0.19 per cent, to 24,923 in the morning session. Broader markets mirrored the trend, with the BSE SmallCap index up 0.30 per cent and the MidCap index advancing 0.11 per cent.
Among the Nifty gainers, Bharti Airtel rose 1.76 per cent, followed by Hero Motocorp and NTPC. On the downside, Shriram Finance, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Maruti Suzuki, and Hindalco were among the top laggards.
Sector-wise, Nifty Auto slipped 0.24 per cent after Monday&rsquo;s strong rally, while Nifty Oil &amp; Gas surged 0.71 per cent. Most indices posted moderate gains up to 0.60 per cent.
Analysts noted global cues also contributed to sentiment. VK Vijayakumar of Geojit Investments said White House talks hint at a &ldquo;reasonable chance of ending the war,&rdquo; potentially benefiting India through tariff relief, though he warned against premature optimism.
Technical analysts flagged a possible pullback toward 24,700, but noted bullish divergence in RSI, suggesting scope for upside moves.
On the foreign flow front, FIIs turned net buyers, purchasing ₹551 crore in equities on Monday, while DIIs bought shares worth ₹4,104 crore.
Asian markets were mixed: Shanghai and Shenzhen gained 0.34 per cent each, Hong Kong&rsquo;s Hang Seng was flat, while Japan&rsquo;s Nikkei and South Korea&rsquo;s Kospi edged lower.
U.S. markets closed nearly flat, with the Dow Jones down 0.08 per cent, Nasdaq up 0.03 per cent, and S&amp;P 500 slipping 0.01 per cent.
