Gold and silver prices slipped in the domestic market this week, offering some relief to buyers after weeks of record highs. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), 24-carat gold fell by ₹665, trading at ₹99,358 per 10 grams, down from ₹1,00,023 a week ago.
Similarly, 22-carat gold dropped to ₹91,012 per 10 grams, while 18-carat gold edged lower to ₹74,519. Silver also corrected by ₹1,027, settling at ₹1,13,906 per kg, though it remains close to its all-time high of ₹1,15,250 recorded on August 7.
Despite the weekly decline, both metals have delivered hefty year-to-date gains. Since January 1, 24-carat gold has surged 30.45%, rising from ₹76,162 to ₹99,358 per 10 grams. Silver has gained even more, up 32.42% since the beginning of 2025.
Looking ahead, Ventura Securities projects gold prices on COMEX could touch $3,600 per ounce by the end of 2025, surpassing this year&rsquo;s record of $3,534. The outlook is supported by strong ETF inflows, central bank purchases, and robust retail participation.
Experts highlight inflation, a weakening US dollar, and expected Fed rate cuts as key drivers for continued upside in gold prices through 2025, making it a resilient asset in uncertain times.
