Western media outlets are being called out for allegedly underreporting India&rsquo;s military precision and technological edge during Operation Sindoor, a large-scale counter-terror operation launched in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
On May 7, India targeted multiple Pakistani terror and military installations in one of its most decisive military actions since 1971. Satellite imagery confirmed the extensive damage inflicted on Pakistani infrastructure, highlighting India&rsquo;s precision strike capabilities and widening operational advantage.
The strikes included targeted hits on aircraft hangars at Bholari air base near Karachi, damage to mobile control centres at Nur Khan Air Base close to Pakistan&rsquo;s Army headquarters, and disabling sections of the runway at Sargodha air base. Rahim Yar Khan air base was rendered non-operational, and critical radar systems at Pasrur and the Sialkot aviation base were neutralised.
Military analysts noted that India&rsquo;s choice of targets reflected strong intelligence gathering and strategic planning, all while minimising collateral damage. Yet, Western media reports allegedly framed the operation as a &ldquo;mutual exchange&rdquo; between India and Pakistan, creating a false sense of parity despite clear disparities in capability and results.
Critics argue this selective reporting ignored satellite-backed evidence of India&rsquo;s operational success while amplifying unverified Pakistani claims of civilian damage. Such coverage, they say, reflects a broader reluctance to acknowledge India&rsquo;s growing military sophistication, contrasting sharply with how Western outlets highlight similar precision in other nations&rsquo; operations.
Observers warn that this narrative bias not only distorts public perception but also indirectly bolsters Pakistan, a key Chinese ally hosting Beijing-backed infrastructure and military projects.
