Fiery Jet Crash in San Diego Claims Lives of Talent Agency Executives, Sparks Major Emergency Response

A devastating early morning crash of a Cessna 550 business jet has left at least two confirmed dead and eight others injured after the aircraft plummeted into a residential area in the Tierrasanta neighbourhood, just east of Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport. The crash, which occurred at approximately 3:45 a.m. local time on Thursday, ignited a fierce blaze that engulfed multiple homes and vehicles, prompting mass evacuations and a hazardous material response.
Among the deceased is Dave Shapiro, co-founder of the Sound Talent Group, a prominent music talent agency. The firm confirmed the news in a statement, saying,&nbsp;"We are devastated by the loss of our co-founder, colleagues and friends. Our hearts go out to their families and to everyone impacted by today&rsquo;s tragedy."
Shapiro was listed as the registered owner of the aircraft, which was reportedly carrying six people at the time of the crash. Officials have yet to confirm the exact number of fatalities, though early indications suggest all who perished were onboard.
San Diego Fire-Rescue Department Assistant Chief Dan Eddy described a chaotic scene:&nbsp;&ldquo;We have jet fuel all over the place. Hazmat teams are actively working, and we&rsquo;ve called in additional resources to handle the spill and the fires it caused.&rdquo;
The aircraft reportedly struck power lines moments before impact, causing extensive structural damage to approximately ten military housing units managed by Liberty Military Housing. Emergency services evacuated around 100 residents from the area.
Captain Bob Heely of Naval Base San Diego assured the public that authorities are working swiftly to assist the displaced.&nbsp;&ldquo;We are actively supporting affected military families in this region and coordinating with the Red Cross and housing agencies to ensure temporary accommodations,&rdquo;&nbsp;he said.
Miraculously, no ground fatalities have been confirmed.&nbsp;&ldquo;The damage behind us is incredibly significant, was life-threatening, and thank God nobody on the ground was killed,&rdquo;&nbsp;said San Diego City Councillor Raul Campillo during a press briefing.
Eyewitnesses described a thunderous noise followed by a fireball.&nbsp;&ldquo;It sounded like a bomb went off,&rdquo;&nbsp;said local resident Maria Gonzales.&nbsp;&ldquo;Then we saw the flames and ran out with our children.&rdquo;
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched a joint investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
