The death toll from a massive fire that swept through a residential complex in Hong Kong on Wednesday has risen to 94, according to the Fire Services Department. 
Authorities said 72 injured individuals, including eight firefighters, were taken to hospitals, while more than 200 residents remain unaccounted for.
The blaze erupted across Wang Fuk Court, a cluster of eight buildings undergoing major renovation and wrapped in scaffolding and green mesh, conditions that investigators believe contributed to the rapid spread of the fire. 
Police have arrested three renovation project supervisors on suspicion of manslaughter after early findings pointed to flammable materials covering the structures.
The Fire Services Department deployed 304 fire engines and rescue vehicles, using drones to monitor hotspots and prevent reignition. 
Flames were fully extinguished in four buildings and brought under control in the remaining three.
Chief Executive John Lee said early Thursday that the fire had been &ldquo;gradually brought under control&rdquo; due to continuous efforts by first responders. 
He noted that 29 people remain hospitalised, including seven in critical condition, and expressed deep sorrow over the unfolding tragedy.
Lee said government agencies have been instructed to mobilise all available resources for rescue, medical care, survivor support, and a comprehensive investigation. 
At temporary shelters, personnel from multiple departments and volunteer groups coordinated aid for affected families. 
Tai Po district councillor Lam Yick Kuen noted significant public support, with individuals and organisations donating supplies.
Rescue operations continued through Thursday, after the fire was escalated to a No. 5 alarm at 6:22 p.m. local time on Wednesday due to its intensity.
