In a fresh salvo at the Election Commission and the ruling BJP, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday alleged large-scale voter fraud in the Haryana Assembly elections, claiming that the Congress would have won decisively if the elections were fair.
At a press conference in New Delhi, Gandhi presented what he called &ldquo;proof&rdquo; of electoral manipulation, displaying the photograph of a Brazilian model whose image, he claimed, appeared 22 times in Haryana&rsquo;s electoral rolls under different names&nbsp; including Seema, Sweety, Saraswati, Rashmi, and Vilma.
&ldquo;Who is this lady? Where does she come from? And how does she manage to vote 22 times in 10 different polling booths? This is not just a glitch this is a centralised operation to rig the election,&rdquo; Gandhi alleged.
<h3 data-start="903" data-end="953">The &lsquo;H Files&rsquo; and the Charge of &lsquo;Vote Chori&rsquo;</h3>
Unveiling what he termed &ldquo;The H Files&rdquo;, Rahul Gandhi accused the Election Commission of working &ldquo;under pressure from the BJP&rdquo; to manipulate the outcome of the Haryana polls. &ldquo;We are confident that a deliberate plan was executed to turn a Congress landslide into a defeat. This is not about one election, this is about India&rsquo;s democracy,&rdquo; he said.
He urged India&rsquo;s youth to take note, adding, &ldquo;Gen Z should understand what is happening. This is about your future. I am questioning the EC and the democratic process with full proof.&rdquo;
According to Gandhi, around 25 lakh fake or invalid voters were found in Haryana&rsquo;s electoral rolls roughly one in every eight voters. He claimed the list included&nbsp;5.21 lakh duplicate voters, 93,174 invalid voters, and 19.26 lakh bulk voters.
Calling the election result a &ldquo;theft of democracy,&rdquo; Gandhi said, &ldquo;Congress lost by just 22,000 votes. In one case, a single photo was used for 223 different votes.&rdquo;

Taking a swipe at Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini, Gandhi remarked, &ldquo;Look at his smile and the &lsquo;vyavastha&rsquo; he boasts about&nbsp; this was two days after the election when everyone believed Congress was winning.&rdquo;
<h3 data-start="2164" data-end="2209">Election Commission Rejects Allegations</h3>
Responding to the allegations even as the press conference was underway, the Election Commission dismissed Gandhi&rsquo;s claims, calling them &ldquo;baseless.&rdquo; Officials said there were no appeals or objections filed against Haryana&rsquo;s voter rolls and questioned the role of Congress polling agents during voting.
&ldquo;What were Congress agents doing at the polling booths if they suspected false voting?&rdquo; an EC official asked.
The Commission also hit back at Gandhi&rsquo;s stance on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, which aims to clean voter rolls by removing duplicate and ineligible names. &ldquo;Is Rahul Gandhi now supporting the SIR or opposing it?&rdquo; the official asked.
<h3 data-start="2884" data-end="2929">Third Round of &lsquo;Vote Fraud&rsquo; Allegations</h3>
This was Rahul Gandhi&rsquo;s third press conference in recent weeks on what he describes as &ldquo;vote chori&rdquo; an organised attempt to manipulate electoral rolls. In earlier briefings, he accused the Election Commission of mass voter deletions and promised to expose what he called a &ldquo;hydrogen bomb of proof&rdquo; against the alleged conspiracy.
