Two days after the deadly car blast near Delhi&rsquo;s Red Fort that claimed eight lives and left several injured, Delhi Police have intensified their investigation. Authorities are now searching for another suspected vehicle a red Ford EcoSport believed to be linked to the same terror module involved in the explosion.
Multiple police teams have been deployed to trace the vehicle across Delhi. Alerts have also been issued to all police stations, border posts, and security checkpoints in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana.
The blast took place on the evening of November 10 when a Haryana-registered Hyundai i20 parked near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station exploded, killing at least eight people and injuring dozens. Investigators suspect the explosion could have been a suicide attack intended to cause maximum destruction.
Over 1,000 CCTV clips are being examined, and investigators are also analyzing mobile phone data and social media activity from several parts of Delhi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, returning from a two-day visit to Bhutan, visited the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital on Wednesday to meet those injured in the explosion. He interacted with the victims and was briefed by doctors and officials about their condition.
Meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken over the probe and formed a special 10-member team led by senior officer Vijay Sakhare. The team includes officers of IG, DIG, SP, and DSP rank to coordinate the investigation.
Security measures have been tightened across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Mumbai, with heightened vigilance at crowded areas and religious places to prevent any further incidents.
