Investigators probing the Red Fort car explosion have uncovered chilling new evidence from the rooms of Dr Muzammil Ganai and Dr Umar Mohammad at Al Falah University in Faridabad. Diaries and notebooks recovered from their rooms have revealed coded references, secret names, and dates that indicate a well-planned terror conspiracy behind the Delhi blast.
Officials said the documents, recovered from Umar&rsquo;s room number 4 and Muzammil&rsquo;s room number 13, contained coded notes and entries dated between November 8 and 12, suggesting the final phase of planning took place days before the explosion. The notebooks also mention about 25 individuals linked to Jammu and Kashmir and Faridabad, whose roles are now being verified.
Earlier, police found 360 kg of explosives in a site just 300 meters from Al Falah University. Forensic results have now confirmed that Dr Umar was driving the i20 car that exploded near the Red Fort on November 10, killing 12 and injuring several others. DNA extracted from bone fragments and clothes matched perfectly with samples from his mother and brother.
The blast, which occurred around 6:52 p.m., triggered massive security alerts across Delhi and raised questions over security lapses near the heritage monument.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has officially taken over the case and is analysing explosive residues, digital evidence, and the car&rsquo;s debris. Preliminary findings confirm that high-grade IEDs were used in the blast.
Investigators are now tracing the supply chain of the explosives and mapping Umar&rsquo;s movements before the explosion. Sources revealed that Umar left his Faridabad residence on November 10, telling colleagues he was attending a personal engagement in Delhi, a cover for what became one of the most alarming terror attacks in recent years.
