In response to the recent ceasefire violations by Pakistan, Indian Army veterans Lt Col Anil Bhatt (Retd) and Major General P.K. Sehgal (Retd) have strongly criticised Islamabad&rsquo;s actions, labeling Pakistan as a rogue nation that cannot be trusted.
Lt Col Bhatt condemned Pakistan&rsquo;s continuous breaches of the ceasefire agreement, describing its behaviour as typical of a rogue state. &ldquo;They have been caught lying countless times. It&rsquo;s often said&mdash;though I hesitate to use the phrase&mdash;that it's like a dog&rsquo;s tail which can never be straightened. That sums up the conduct of this rogue nation,&rdquo; he remarked.
He highlighted India&rsquo;s robust counter-response, stating, &ldquo;We destroyed nine Pakistan-based terrorist bases. In retaliation, they began attacking us. But we responded with strength, showcasing our air defence capabilities. Pakistan never genuinely intended to honour the ceasefire. Their military provokes conflict when they&rsquo;re desperate&mdash;often to serve their leadership&rsquo;s internal agendas.&rdquo;
Echoing similar views, Maj Gen P.K. Sehgal said there has been a clear transformation in India&rsquo;s response under the current leadership. &ldquo;This is the first time justice has been delivered so decisively. Earlier, under the UPA regime, there was no political will and indecisiveness. Today, the entire nation is united&mdash;both in Kashmir and across India&mdash;and there's a clear, firm stand.&rdquo;
Maj Gen Sehgal also shared details of the ceasefire breach: &ldquo;Yesterday evening around 3:35 p.m., Pakistan&rsquo;s DGMO contacted India&rsquo;s DGMO, and by 5 p.m., a ceasefire was in effect. Yet within just three hours, Pakistan violated it across several sectors&mdash;Srinagar, Jammu, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. Drones were spotted in the Srinagar region, with four being shot down. This is a blatant violation.&rdquo;
He further added that India has adopted a new, assertive doctrine. &ldquo;India has made it clear: any act of terrorism or conspiracy from Pakistani soil will now be treated as an act of war. Just as we responded powerfully to the incident in Pahalgam, we will continue to act decisively.&rdquo;
Maj Gen Sehgal described a recent military operation, stating, &ldquo;Over the course of around 100 hours, India dealt a heavy blow to Pakistan. Major air bases in Punjab province, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), and Sindh were hit, and their air defence systems were bypassed entirely.&rdquo;
Despite the formal ceasefire agreement between both nations, Pakistan once again violated it on Saturday evening in the sectors of Akhnoor, Mendhar, R.S. Pura, Chamb, Bhimber, and Gurez, with loud explosions also reported in Srinagar.
