Anmol Bishnoi, one of India&rsquo;s most wanted fugitives and the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has been deported from the United States and is expected to arrive in Delhi today. He faces at least 18 criminal cases, including his alleged involvement in the conspiracy to kill former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was shot dead outside his son Zeeshan&rsquo;s office in Bandra East in October 2024.
According to information shared with the Siddique family, the US Department of Homeland Security confirmed that Anmol had been removed from American soil on November 18, 2025. The family circulated a screenshot of the official communication.
Part of a Global Crime Network
Anmol is a key member of Lawrence Bishnoi&rsquo;s international criminal syndicate, which continues to operate despite Lawrence&rsquo;s incarceration in Sabarmati Central Jail in Ahmedabad. The gang maintains strong links with pro-Khalistan groups such as Babbar Khalsa International, and agencies believe that Anmol, along with Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, manages overseas operations.
He had earlier claimed responsibility for the firing outside actor Salman Khan&rsquo;s residence in April 2024, after which Mumbai Police issued a lookout circular against him.
Role in Baba Siddique Murder Case
Investigators have found that Anmol was closely coordinating with the shooters involved in the killing of Baba Siddique. Operating under the alias &lsquo;Bhanu&rsquo;, he was also involved in planning the attack on singer Sidhu Moose Wala in 2022. Officials from the National Investigation Agency describe him as the primary overseas handler of the Bishnoi syndicate, managing extortion networks, issuing threats, and supervising assignments through encrypted platforms.
Why He Was Deported
Originally from Fazilka in Punjab, Anmol has a reward of ₹10 lakh on his head and has been on the run since escaping India on a forged passport. He is believed to have crossed into Nepal before travelling through Dubai and Kenya, eventually reaching the United States. US authorities detained him in November last year for using a fake passport, placing him in the Pottawattamie County Jail in Iowa. This detention triggered the deportation process that concluded this week.
With his return imminent, Indian agencies are preparing to take formal custody of one of the country&rsquo;s most significant criminal fugitives.
