The steady box office run of Dhurandhar has helped the film create history in Hindi cinema. On Tuesday, the Ranveer Singh&ndash;starrer surpassed the Hindi language earnings of Pushpa 2: The Rise, becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. According to figures shared by the makers, the film has collected ₹831 crore net in India.
On Wednesday afternoon, production house Jio Studios released a celebratory poster declaring Dhurandhar as India&rsquo;s highest-grossing Hindi film. The poster featured Ranveer Singh in a powerful avatar and mentioned the film&rsquo;s domestic net collection of ₹831 crore after 33 days in theatres.
Pushpa 2, which was released in 2024, had earlier set the benchmark with ₹821 crore from its Hindi version alone. That record remained unbeaten until Dhurandhar crossed the mark this week. However, some trade analysts suggest that Dhurandhar&rsquo;s confirmed domestic earnings currently stand at ₹782 crore, indicating that the final numbers are still being closely tracked.
With this milestone, Dhurandhar has also registered the highest box office collection achieved by an Indian film in a single language. Earlier, films such as Chhaava (₹601 crore), Jawan (₹586 crore), Stree 2, Gadar 2, Pathaan, Animal and Baahubali 2 had crossed the ₹500 crore mark in Hindi.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar is a high-octane spy thriller featuring Ranveer Singh as Hamza, an Indian intelligence operative who infiltrates criminal and terror networks in Karachi. The film also stars Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt and R. Madhavan in pivotal roles. The makers have confirmed that Dhurandhar Part 2 is scheduled for release in March 2026.
