A major health scare struck a Bollywood film unit in Leh when approximately 120 crew members were rushed to hospital after suffering from severe food poisoning.
The incident occurred late Sunday evening while the crew was shooting for Ranveer Singh's upcoming film (Dhurandar) in Ladakh. Several members suddenly developed abdominal pain, vomiting and headaches, leading to panic at the location where nearly 600 people had dined.
Doctors at the S.N.M. Hospital in Leh confirmed it was a case of mass food poisoning. Authorities swiftly mobilised staff across departments to handle the sudden rush of patients. Police were also deployed to manage the overcrowded emergency ward and prevent panic.
Most patients have now been stabilised and discharged after timely treatment. Food and water samples have been collected for forensic analysis to identify the source of contamination.
Officials are investigating possible lapses in food safety standards at the shooting site. The names of the film&rsquo;s producers, directors, and cast remain undisclosed.
