The preparations for the elections of the local self-government bodies have started after the rotation of the presidents of 138 municipalities has been announced recently. A situation is likely to arise where BJP will find it difficult to find candidates in Borsad municipality of Anand district. A year and a half ago, 14 BJP nagar sevaks have formed a Vikas Manch along with Congress and independent nagar sevaks. The politics of the district has heated up after deciding to contest the municipal elections under the auspices of Vikas Manch. It may be mentioned that Borsad municipality was superceded one and a half years ago due to internal factionalism of BJP municipal workers. A meeting of Congress and independent civic servants was held along with the suspended BJP civic servants in a hotel in Borsad. As many as 25 former city servants of BJP, Congress and independents joined this meeting. The former city servants have formed the Vikas Manch and decided to contest the municipal elections under the auspices of the Vikas Manch. Shailesh Shah, who has been a BJP municipal servant for the last three terms, has been made the convener of Vikas Manch. Vikas Manch has started the process of preparing candidates for 36 seats in 9 wards of Borsad. The formation of development forum has heated up the local as well as district politics. Tired of totalitarian rule: Shailesh Shah Shailesh Shah, a former municipal servant of BJP, said that in 2020, BJP won 20 seats and gained power. After a year, the committees were not formed and the Congress members continued to run a totalitarian regime. 17 out of 20 members of BJP made representations to the regional leaders, fed up with the administration of the municipality. But, all the leaders brought a no-confidence motion without listening to the elected representatives. So the municipality superseded our 14 members by suspending them. It has been decided to contest elections by forming a Vikas Manch so that the people of Borsad can administer the city of Borsad. 25 members including 9 from BJP were present in our meeting. Borsad City BJP President Deepak Patel said, "Only three members of BJP were present in the Vkas Manch meeting. While the rest of the members have joined us. So the formation of development forum will not make any difference to us. If necessary, we will inform the district president about the meeting." Administrator's rule in the municipality due to BJP's internal factionalism: In Borsad Municipality elections held in the year 2020, BJP won 20 seats out of 36 seats. A year later, a tussle started among the members of the ruling party over the formation of the committees. Among the 20 members, 17 members expressed their dissatisfaction against the municipal president and presented to the regional level leaders. The leaders of the region did not listen to the members and 14 members of the BJP together with the members of the Congress put a motion of no confidence. Borsad municipality was therefore superseded. While 14 members of BJP were suspended from the party for six years.

हाल ही में 138 नगर पालिकाओं के अध्यक्षों के रोटेशन की घोषणा के बाद स्थानीय स्वशासन निकायों के चुनावों की तैयारी शुरू हो गई है। ऐसी स्थिति उत्पन्न होने की संभावना है जहां भाजपा को आनंद जिले की बोरसद नगर पालिका में उम्मीदवार ढूंढना मुश्किल हो जाएगा। डेढ़ साल पहले भाजपा के 14 नगर सेवकों ने कांग्रेस और निर्दलीय नगर सेवकों के साथ मिलकर विकासमंच का गठन किया है। विकास मंच के तत्वावधान में नगर निकाय चुनाव लड़ने के निर्णय के बाद जिले की राजनीति गरमा गयी है. उल्लेखनीय है कि भाजपा नगर पालिका कार्यकर्ताओं की आंतरिक गुटबाजी के कारण डेढ़ साल पहले बोरसद नगर पालिका को हटा दिया गया था। बोरसद के एक होटल में निलंबित भाजपा नगर सेवकों के साथ कांग्रेस और निर्दलीय नगर सेवकों की बैठक हुई. इस बैठक में भाजपा, कांग्रेस और निर्दलीय 25 पूर्व नगर सेवक शामिल हुए। पूर्व नगर सेवकों ने विकास मंच का गठन कर विकास मंच के तत्वावधान में नगर निगम चुनाव लड़ने का निर्णय लिया है. पिछले 3 बार से बीजेपी के नगर सेवक रहे शैलेश शाह को विकास मंच का संयोजक बनाया गया है. विकास मंच ने बोरसद के 9 वार्डों की 36 सीटों पर उम्मीदवार तैयार करने की प्रक्रिया शुरू कर दी है. विकास मंच के गठन से स्थानीय और जिले की राजनीति गरमा गयी है. अधिनायकवादी शासन से थक चुके हैं: शैलेश शाह: बीजेपी के पूर्व नगर सेवक शैलेश शाह ने कहा कि 2020 में बीजेपी ने 20 सीटें जीतकर सत्ता हासिल की. एक वर्ष के बाद भी समितियाँ नहीं बनीं और कांग्रेस के सदस्य अधिनायकवादी शासन चलाते रहे। भाजपा के 20 में से 17 सदस्यों ने पालिका प्रशासन से तंग आकर क्षेत्रीय नेताओं से गुहार लगाई। लेकिन, सभी नेता निर्वाचित प्रतिनिधियों की बात सुने बिना ही अविश्वास प्रस्ताव ले आये. इसलिए नगर पालिका ने हमारे 14 सदस्यों को निलंबित करके उन्हें पदच्युत कर दिया। विकास मंच बनाकर चुनाव लड़ने का निर्णय लिया गया है ताकि बोरसद के लोग बोरसद शहर का प्रबंधन कर सकें। हमारी बैठक में बीजेपी के 9 समेत 25 सदस्य मौजूद थे. विकास मंच की बैठक में भाजपा के मात्र तीन सदस्य उपस्थित थे : नगर भाजपा अध्यक्ष : बोरसद शहर भाजपा अध्यक्ष दीपक पटेल ने कहा कि विकास मंच की बैठक में भाजपा के केवल 3 सदस्य उपस्थित थे। जबकि बाकी सदस्य हमारे साथ आ गए हैं. इसलिए विकास मंच के गठन से हमें कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ेगा. जरूरत पड़ने पर हम जिला अध्यक्ष को बैठक की जानकारी देंगे. भाजपा की अंदरूनी गुटबाजी के कारण नगर पालिका में प्रशासक का राज: साल 2020 में हुए बोरसाद नगर पालिका चुनाव में बीजेपी ने 36 सीटों में से 20 सीटें जीतीं. एक साल बाद समितियों के गठन को लेकर सत्ता पक्ष के सदस्यों के बीच खींचतान शुरू हो गयी. 20 सदस्यों में से 17 सदस्यों ने पालिकाध्यक्ष के खिलाफ असंतोष व्यक्त कर क्षेत्रीय स्तर के नेताओं के सामने अपनी बात रखी। क्षेत्र के नेताओं ने सदस्यों की बात नहीं मानी और भाजपा के 14 सदस्यों ने कांग्रेस के सदस्यों के साथ मिलकर अविश्वास प्रस्ताव डाल दिया. इसलिए बोरसाद नगर पालिका को हटा दिया गया। वहीं बीजेपी के 14 सदस्यों को 6 साल के लिए पार्टी से निलंबित कर दिया गया.
