The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday arrested two individuals from Patna, Bihar, in connection with alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG exam.
A senior CBI official confirmed the arrests of Manish Prakash and Ashutosh. According to the official, Ashutosh was responsible for arranging safe houses for the students, while Manish Prakash transported candidates to a school to "prepare" them for the exam.
"Manish Prakash transported the students in his car, and they were accommodated in Ashutosh's house," the CBI officer stated. These arrests mark the first made by the CBI in the NEET paper leak case. Both accused were produced in court.
On Monday, the CBI took over the investigation of the NEET (UG) paper leak case reported in Patna, Bihar. Additionally, the agency is handling another cheating case in Godhra, Gujarat, and three alleged impersonation incidents in Rajasthan related to the examination.

Earlier in the day, President Droupadi Murmu addressed the irregularities in the NEET-UG examination, affirming the government's commitment to conducting a fair investigation into the recent incidents of paper leaks and ensuring stringent punishment for those found guilty.
The National Testing Agency (NTA), responsible for conducting the NEET-UG examination, has faced significant criticism over alleged irregularities, sparking protests nationwide. Demonstrators and political parties are calling for the disbanding of the NTA.
On Thursday, the Supreme Court sought a response from the NTA regarding a petition that alleged "inconsistent" calculation of marks on the OMR sheets used in the NEET-UG 2024 exam. A vacation bench of Justices Manoj Misra and SVN Bhatti issued a notice, requiring the NTA to respond by July 8, the date of the next hearing.
Several petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court, requesting the recall of NEET-UG 2024 results and the re-conducting of the examination due to allegations of paper leakage and malpractices in the test held on May 5. However, the apex court has already refused to stay the counselling for NEET-UG 2024.
The NEET-UG examination, conducted by the NTA, serves as the pathway for admissions into MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other related courses in both government and private institutions across the country.

સીબીઆઈ અધિકારીએ જણાવ્યું હતું કે, "મનીષ પ્રકાશે વિદ્યાર્થીઓને તેની કારમાં લઈ ગયા હતા, અને તેઓને આશુતોષના ઘરે રાખવામાં આવ્યા હતા." આ ધરપકડો NEET પેપર લીક કેસમાં CBI દ્વારા કરવામાં આવેલી પ્રથમ ધરપકડ છે. બંને આરોપીઓને કોર્ટમાં રજૂ કરાયા હતા.
સોમવારે, સીબીઆઈએ બિહારના પટનામાં નોંધાયેલા NEET (UG) પેપર લીક કેસની તપાસ હાથ ધરી હતી. વધુમાં, એજન્સી ગુજરાતના ગોધરામાં અન્ય એક છેતરપિંડીનો કેસ સંભાળી રહી છે અને પરીક્ષા સંબંધિત રાજસ્થાનમાં ત્રણ કથિત ઢોંગની ઘટનાઓ છે.

NEET-UG પરીક્ષા આયોજિત કરવા માટે જવાબદાર નેશનલ ટેસ્ટિંગ એજન્સી (NTA)ને કથિત અનિયમિતતાઓને લઈને નોંધપાત્ર ટીકાનો સામનો કરવો પડ્યો છે, જેના કારણે દેશભરમાં વિરોધ થયો છે. પ્રદર્શનકારીઓ અને રાજકીય પક્ષો NTAને વિખેરી નાખવાની હાકલ કરી રહ્યા છે.
ગુરુવારે, સુપ્રીમ કોર્ટે NEET-UG 2024 પરીક્ષામાં ઉપયોગમાં લેવાતી OMR શીટ્સ પર માર્ક્સની "અસંગત" ગણતરીનો આક્ષેપ કરતી અરજી અંગે NTA પાસેથી જવાબ માંગ્યો હતો. જસ્ટિસ મનોજ મિશ્રા અને એસવીએન ભાટીની વેકેશન બેન્ચે નોટિસ જારી કરીને NTAને આગામી સુનાવણીની તારીખ 8મી જુલાઈ સુધીમાં જવાબ આપવાનો આદેશ આપ્યો હતો.
સુપ્રીમ કોર્ટમાં NEET-UG 2024ના પરિણામોને પરત બોલાવવા અને 5 મેના રોજ લેવાયેલી પરીક્ષામાં પેપર લીક થવા અને ગેરરીતિના આરોપોને કારણે પરીક્ષા ફરીથી યોજવાની વિનંતી કરતી અનેક અરજીઓ દાખલ કરવામાં આવી છે. જો કે, સર્વોચ્ચ અદાલત પહેલાથી જ NEET-UG 2024 માટે કાઉન્સેલિંગ રોકવાનો ઇનકાર કર્યો.
NTA દ્વારા આયોજિત NEET-UG પરીક્ષા, દેશભરની સરકારી અને ખાનગી સંસ્થાઓમાં એમબીબીએસ, બીડીએસ, આયુષ અને અન્ય સંબંધિત અભ્યાસક્રમોમાં પ્રવેશ માટેના માર્ગ તરીકે કામ કરે છે.

केंद्रीय जांच ब्यूरो (सीबीआई) ने गुरुवार को नीट-यूजी परीक्षा में कथित अनियमितताओं के सिलसिले में बिहार के पटना से दो व्यक्तियों को गिरफ्तार किया।
सीबीआई के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने मनीष प्रकाश और आशुतोष की गिरफ़्तारी की पुष्टि की है। अधिकारी के अनुसार, आशुतोष छात्रों के लिए सुरक्षित घरों की व्यवस्था करने के लिए ज़िम्मेदार था, जबकि मनीष प्रकाश परीक्षा के लिए उम्मीदवारों को "तैयार" करने के लिए स्कूल ले जाता था।
सीबीआई अधिकारी ने बताया, "मनीष प्रकाश ने छात्रों को अपनी कार में बिठाया और उन्हें आशुतोष के घर में ठहराया गया।" नीट पेपर लीक मामले में सीबीआई द्वारा की गई यह पहली गिरफ़्तारी है। दोनों आरोपियों को अदालत में पेश किया गया।
सोमवार को सीबीआई ने बिहार के पटना में हुए NEET (UG) पेपर लीक मामले की जांच अपने हाथ में ले ली। इसके अलावा, एजेंसी गुजरात के गोधरा में एक और धोखाधड़ी मामले और परीक्षा से संबंधित राजस्थान में कथित रूप से नकल करने की तीन घटनाओं की जांच कर रही है।

इससे पहले, राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू ने नीट-यूजी परीक्षा में अनियमितताओं पर बात की और हाल ही में पेपर लीक की घटनाओं की निष्पक्ष जांच करने और दोषी पाए जाने वालों के लिए कड़ी सजा सुनिश्चित करने के लिए सरकार की प्रतिबद्धता की पुष्टि की।
NEET-UG परीक्षा आयोजित करने के लिए जिम्मेदार राष्ट्रीय परीक्षण एजेंसी (NTA) को कथित अनियमितताओं को लेकर काफी आलोचना का सामना करना पड़ा है, जिसके कारण देश भर में विरोध प्रदर्शन हो रहे हैं। प्रदर्शनकारी और राजनीतिक दल NTA को भंग करने की मांग कर रहे हैं।
गुरुवार को सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने एनटीए से एक याचिका के संबंध में जवाब मांगा, जिसमें नीट-यूजी 2024 परीक्षा में इस्तेमाल की गई ओएमआर शीट पर अंकों की "असंगत" गणना का आरोप लगाया गया था। जस्टिस मनोज मिश्रा और एसवीएन भट्टी की अवकाश पीठ ने एक नोटिस जारी कर एनटीए को अगली सुनवाई की तारीख 8 जुलाई तक जवाब देने को कहा।
सुप्रीम कोर्ट में कई याचिकाएं दायर की गई हैं, जिसमें 5 मई को आयोजित परीक्षा में पेपर लीक और गड़बड़ी के आरोपों के कारण NEET-UG 2024 के परिणाम को वापस लेने और परीक्षा को फिर से आयोजित करने का अनुरोध किया गया है। हालांकि, शीर्ष अदालत पहले ही NEET-UG 2024 के लिए काउंसलिंग पर रोक लगाने से इनकार कर चुकी है।
एनटीए द्वारा आयोजित नीट-यूजी परीक्षा देश भर के सरकारी और निजी संस्थानों में एमबीबीएस, बीडीएस, आयुष और अन्य संबंधित पाठ्यक्रमों में प्रवेश के लिए मार्ग के रूप में कार्य करती है।
