Following the wedding, the happy couple had an extravagant reception at Bastian in Dadar. This celebration was graced by some of the well known stars of Bollywood including Rekha, Salman Khan, Kajol, Aditi Rao Hyadri, Tabu, Anil Kapoor.&nbsp; Upon arrival at the destination, the couple greeted everyone including the paparazzis and proceeded to take pictures with them too which received widespread love on the internet. The newlyweds were seen for the first time after marriage in some of the most beautiful and extravagant wedding clothes. Sonakshi stunned the crowd with her exquisite red saree which she wore to the celebration. Her look was topped off with red chooras and sindoor. Sonakshi&rsquo;s husband Zaheer was seen wearing an ivory sherwani.&nbsp; The theme set for the grand celebration at Shilpa Shetty&rsquo;s Bastian was formal and festive. DJ Ganesh, known for his extensive choice of music was hired to perform live for the newlyweds and the guests.

The couple took to their social media to share pictures and moments from their special evening. In Sonakshi&rsquo;s post on Instagram she highlighted the reason why the couple chose 23rd of June as their wedding date and it touched the hearts of many! She mentioned that 7 years back on 23rd June, the two fell in love with each other. They posted a series of pictures where Zaheer was seen kissing Sonakshi&rsquo;s hand in one. They were signing papers in another picture and in another picture Sonakshi was seen with her father while she had her hands wrapped around his arm and was looking at him. It was all smiles!&nbsp;
Both of them looked euphoric and thrilled together after their marriage. In the pictures, the bride&rsquo;s father Shatrughan Sinha was also seen where he appeared to be very happy and delighted at the union of the two. The controversies that waged around the two were seamlessly dealt with by the couple and their family. The civil marriage was held under the Special Marriage Act which made it clear that either of the families refrained from particularly adopting Hindu or Muslim customs. Instead, they focused on underlining the significance and the intimate connection that the two shared which was above all dictates of faith. The groom&rsquo;s father, Iqbal Ratnasi told the Free Press Journal that &ldquo;She (Sonakshi) is not converting, that is certain.&rdquo; He further added that &ldquo;Theirs is a union of hearts and religion has no role to play whatsoever.
