There has been an ongoing debate regarding the surge in salaries demanded by Bollywood celebrities and the increasing costs has picked up further momentum in the past few months. Directors across the industry including Anurag Kashyap who has directed films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Dev D and many more along with Karan Johar, who has created films like Student of the Year, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil have also voiced their concerns regarding the impact of these increasing costs on the quality and essence of filmmaking. The rise in costs, including the salaries of the stars have led to severe dwindling of their financial stability which have proven to be a major concern for them.&nbsp;
Recently, famous bollywood actor and the new Big Boss OTT 3 host Anil Kapoor joined in on this debate and has supported&nbsp; this perspective that was earlier put forth by other directors and producers. In Anil Kapoor&rsquo;s recent interview with The Indian Express, he said that in his whole career, he has seen the various aspects of this industry including the highs and the lows as a producer and an actor. He shed some light on how the demands for high salaries made by the actors in films disturb the financial structure and layout for the directors and producers. It makes it increasingly difficult for them to carry out their vision like they were supposed to because it becomes challenging to make ends meet. He mentioned that &ldquo;All actors, actresses and technicians, especially the stars need to be more realistic in charging their fees and demands so that filmmakers can make more films,&rdquo;&nbsp;
Anil Kapoor also discussed briefly about his experiences as a producer which began with Badhai Ho Badhai. He mentioned that it deeply understood the financial struggles and challenges that come with producing a film once he took up that responsibility himself. Anil Kapoor&rsquo;s father- Surinder Kapoor who was also a very known producer and director worked as the President in the Film and Television Producers Guild of India and made a plethora of great films. Anil Kapoor said that &ldquo;it disturbs the budget significantly.&rdquo;
Among the above mentioned actors who have spoken up about this topic, Kartik Aaryan whose recent film Chandu Champion has been critically acclaimed and loved among the audience also shared the same views on the issue about star fees. While expressing his point of view he underscored the importance of corporate fairness. He mentioned that he does not believe in the mindset that &ldquo;I don't care what happens with the rest, I will earn.&rdquo;He also mentioned that he is always open to reducing his fees as the situation demands and is willing to accept any amount of money given to him.
Anil Kapoor has been part of many legendary films in his career which stay evergreen to this day. Elaborating on the same, he mentions that he has always been willing to reduce the pay from his end. If not that he has also done various films without any pay. He did not want to name anyone but said that &ldquo;There are quite a few actors from my generation and the generations before me who have taken pay cuts and done films for free.&rdquo;
