Leader of Opposition in Assembly Amit Chawda has alleged that the BJP government is running away from the discussion of people's issues and mismanagement and rejecting questions raised by Congress MLAs regarding people-oriented, misadministration and corruption is killing democracy. Amit Chavda raised questions about the functioning of the BJP government and the assembly after not getting permission to ask as many as 38 questions to the opposition MLAs in the 3-day short session of the assembly. विधानसभा में विपक्ष के नेता अमित चावड़ा ने आरोप लगाया है कि भाजपा सरकार जनता के मुद्दों और कुशासन पर चर्चा से भाग रही है और कांग्रेस विधायकों द्वारा जनोन्मुख, कुप्रशासन और भ्रष्टाचार के संबंध में उठाए गए सवालों को खारिज करना लोकतंत्र की हत्या है। विधानसभा के 3 दिवसीय संक्षिप्त सत्र में विपक्षी विधायकों को 38 प्रश्न पूछने की अनुमति नहीं मिलने पर अमित चावड़ा ने भाजपा सरकार और विधानसभा की कार्यप्रणाली पर सवाल उठाए। 15वीं गुजरात विधानसभा के मानसून सत्र के दूसरे दिन सभी कांग्रेस विधायकों को वॉकआउट के बाद एक दिन के लिए निलंबित कर दिया गया। विपक्ष ने विधानसभा में सत्ता पक्ष को घेरने की तैयारी कर ली थी. विपक्षी विधायकों ने पहले दिन 22 और दूसरे दिन 16 प्रश्न सदन के पटल पर रखे। लेकिन, इनमें पहले दिन शिक्षकों की अनुपस्थिति के सवाल को अनुमति दे दी गयी. दूसरे दिन विपक्ष के नेता अमित चावड़ा ने आरोप लगाया है कि 16 में से किसी भी सवाल को अनुमति नहीं दी गई. बेनिफिट न्यूज से बात करते हुए अमित चावड़ा ने कहा कि बीजेपी सरकार जनता के मुद्दों, भ्रष्टाचार और कुप्रबंधन पर चर्चा से भाग रही है. कांग्रेस विधायकों द्वारा जनोन्मुखता, कुप्रबंधन, भ्रष्टाचार को लेकर पूछे गए सवालों को खारिज करना लोकतंत्र की हत्या है। 10 साल के शासन और तीसरी बार प्रधानमंत्री बनने के बाद राष्ट्रीय योजना नर्मदा योजना की घोषणा क्यों नहीं की गई?, तीसरी बार प्रधानमंत्री बनने के बाद पेश किए गए बजट में आंध्र प्रदेश और बिहार को जो मिला उसकी तुलना में गुजरात को क्या मिला? ?, त्रिपुरा और झारखंड में डबल इंजन सरकार के बावजूद कुपोषण गुजरात जैसे पिछड़े राज्यों से ज्यादा है वह तीसरी बार प्रधानमंत्री बने, लेकिन गुजरात को पश्चिम रेलवे का मुख्यालय नहीं मिला। डबल इंजन सरकार के बावजूद गुजरात के किसान कर्ज में डूबे हुए हैं. क्या केंद्र सरकार की ओर से किसानों का कर्ज माफ करने के लिए कोई माफी योजना नहीं आ रही है? गुजरात में हीरा उद्योग मंदी में है? यदि इसके लिए कोई विशेष पैकेज या बजट होता और अभिनंदन प्रस्ताव लाया जाता तो इसका स्वागत किया जाता। राज्य में सत्तारूढ़ दल के खराब प्रदर्शन के कारण लोगों की कई समस्याएं उत्पन्न हो गयी हैं. युवाओं को रोजगार, राजकोट में गेमजोन की आग, शिक्षकों की अनियमितता, स्कूल के जर्जर कमरे, सरस्वती साधना योजना में भ्रष्टाचार, कच्छ में गौचर भूमि आवंटन पर हाई कोर्ट की रोक के बाद कार्रवाई, नवसारी जिले में जलापूर्ति घोटाला, सूरत में डुमास भूमि घोटाला, लड़कियाँ 'अटकोट, राजकोट में छात्रावास बलात्कार मामला, गांधीनगर मूलसाना भूमि घोटाला, केवडिया में आदिवासी युवाओं की मवेशियों द्वारा मौत, गुणवत्तापूर्ण शिक्षा, वन विभाग की भर्ती पर अभ्यर्थियों का आक्रोश, टैट-टैट शिक्षकों की भर्ती जैसे मुद्दों को विधानसभा के पटल पर रखा गया।
